MATERIAL & CARE GUIDE

All items are pressed out of a burning-hot solid piece of brass for durability and highest quality and are then CNC-machine made and carefully sanded by hand. It takes almost 7 minutes to craft one base on a CNC-machine. We can group our materials in two types of surface treatments:


LIVING (patina)

FINISHES: Brass / Polished Brass / Burnished Brass Living


A living finish will change over time adding character to the product. The more you touch the product the faster the process will be. The brass will either be brushed by hand or pre-polished.


All our finishes are unlacquered as we prefer when they age with grace and develop their distinct
character.


PLATED (long-lasting)

FINISHES: Nickel / Polished Nickel / Burnished Brass / Nearly Black / Gunmetal


The colored items are either subsequently plated or PVD treated in our unique material options with a thin layer that withstands more than 240 hours of salt fog testing.


Plated finishes will not change as much as living finishes.

Burnished Brass (BB)

Material:
Made of solid brass


Description:
A highly durable matt brown-coloured plating is applied and baked in our ovens to ensure the lacquer cures to offer lasting protection.


Use:
Indoor and outdoor


Care:
Use a damp cloth and mild detergent to clean the product. Do not use a hard sponge or other things that can scratch the surface.


Burnished Brass Living (BBL)

Finish type:
LIVING - unlacquered


Material:
Made of solid brass


Description:
A bronzing powder is applied in a liquid bath, which gives the surface the aged brass colourway.


This is a living finish which will get patina and lighten over time where it is used most.


Use:
Indoor and outdoor


Care:
Use a damp cloth and mild detergent to clean the product. Do not use a hard sponge or other things that can scratch the surface.

Brass (BR)


Finish type:
LIVING - sateen brushed / unlacquered


Material:
Made of solid brass


Description:
The product is sateened by hand to give a brushed satin finish. It is unlacquered and will patinate over time and get the look of aged brass. Matt finish.


Use:
Indoor and outdoor


Care:
Use a damp cloth and mild detergent to clean the product. Do not use a hard sponge or other things that

can scratch the surface.

Polished Brass (PB)


Finish type:
LIVING – polished / unlacquered


Material:
Made of solid brass


Description:
Polished by hand to a smooth mirrored finish. It is unlacquered and will patinate over time and get the look of aged brass.


Use:
Indoor and outdoor


Care:
If you prefer to let the product age gracefully, clean it with a soft lint-free cloth and warm soapy water. If you prefer to preserve the original polished finish, use a good-quality brass cleaner to polish it

Nickel (NI)


Finish type:
PLATED - sateen brushed


Material:
Made of solid brass


Description:
The product is sateened by hand to give a brushed finish.


A nickel-plating treatment is then applied. The nickel plating provides a durable finish and has a warmer tone than brushed steel, which is more blue.


Nickel and brushed steel can complement each other in an interior.

Polished Nickel (PN)

PLATED – polished


Material:
Made of solid brass


Description:
The product is polished by hand to a smooth mirrored finish. A bright nickel-plating treatment is then applied.


The nickel plate provides a durable finish and has a warmer tone than chrome. Polished nickel and chrome can complement each other in an interior.

Black Horn (BH)

Certified Black Horn, polished


Material:
Horn Tips


Description:
As this is a natural material small colour variations may occur, which is part of the charm. Most parts will be black and some have hints of white markings.


You may lubricate with oil at regular intervals to prevent the horn from drying out.

Wenge (WE)

Wenge wood


Description:
The wenge tree grows in the tropical forests of West Africa. The type of wood is a natural very dark brown tangentially black and has characteristic long straight grain patterns.


Be aware that the crossbar might loosen a bit in very steam environments.

Description:
Oak timber is a strong and hard wood. Be aware that the crossbar might loosen a bit in very steam environments.
